- Better value than Pichola for a similar view, and quieter if you want the lights without the crowds.

- Diwali falls between mid-October and mid-November depending on the lunar calendar. The main night is the one to plan around, though the city stays lit for several days either side.
- How far ahead should I book for Diwali?
- Six to eight weeks for a lake-facing room, longer if you want a specific property. It is the highest-demand week of the year in Udaipur and the best rooms go first.
- Are Udaipur hotels more expensive during Diwali?
- Yes, noticeably. Diwali week is the annual peak, and rates across the city run well above a normal November. Booking early is the only reliable way to avoid the worst of it.
